Cloud9

Cloud9 is located in the Mamanuca Islands of Fiji. It is the country’s only two-level floating platform with an internationally stocked bar and an Italian woodfire pizzeria. The surrounding water is so blue that I couldn’t believe it was real.  This place is not for cheapskates, it’s bougie as ever and a little bit of splurging is required to truly enjoy all that this venue has to offer. After paying the entrance fee, you’ll be notified that 60$ off your ticket goes towards your bar tab, which translated to a personalized pizza for 1-2 people and two alcoholic beverages.

Fiji is comprised of approximately 130 islands and if you’re blown away by the description I provided for just one of them, imagine what awaits you on the rest of them! This country will certainly be seeing the likes of me again.

The hotel I was staying at coordinates transportation to and from the Port Denarau Marina for you, so it’s hassle-free. From Nadi it’s about a 20-minute drive, once there you hop on a boat that takes another 20 minutes before you reach the platform and as you can imagine, it’s a pretty scenic commute.

Now, I’m not much of a swimmer and I only took lessons for a month prior to leaving for this trip, but when I saw how clear the water was, I couldn’t resist. I spent all day jumping off the platform with friends I’d made on the boat and floating with minnows. Quite the relaxing day. The only negative I have from this excursion is the music selection. The DJ only played techno, so if you’re not into that take it with a grain of salt as I did. It’s minor in comparison to all the good this place with be bringing you.

If you ever find yourself on this side of the world, do not miss the opportunity to check out this place! You will not regret it.
